The Sweet Honey Run Club was born from the void left by my mother's passing, leaving me empty and lost. I found running to be both an escape and a path that allowed me to feel my pain but not be burdened by it. Running has been an effective mental health tool for me, and I invite you to find physical rest and emotional restoration in the freedom of putting one foot in front of the other. Running isn't always an escape. Sometimes, it's a journey to move beyond where we find ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. My mother's death left me empty and lost; running has been emotionally fulfilling and given me a new direction. Life offers so much more than we sometimes see or feel, and it awaits us with open arms.
Mental health is more than just a catch-phrase. It's a state of evolution that requires effort, support, and forward movement. The Sweet Honey Run Club offers all of that and more. We assess where we are, decide where we want to go, and take strides to get there with one foot in front of the other. Our mental health matters, and so does yours.
My mother's passing left me with a void I thought was fillable. But from that, I have found a mission—to be better, healthier, and centered in my emotions. The Sweet Honey Run Club is a collective of like-minded individuals committed to improving our mental health. We talk. We listen. And, we run—not away from anything, but to a better place. Let's go!
